Cookies

Cookies are wonderful and delicious, but this site does not use them to track or store information. Any analytics programs used will be for the purpose of testing the site’s functionality or browser compatibility.

Website monetization and Search Engine Optimization are not major objectives of this site.

Security

This site is hosted on a closed Linux server belonging to the University of North Carolina, Asheville. For additional information on the system security settings and specs, contact the New Media Department Lab Manager or UNCA IT staff.

In case of a server crash, hack, or other form of data loss, the site files are backed up on a secure hard drive.

External Links

Any links on this site have been previewed by members and are generally trusted as safe public sites. If anyone encounters problems with unreliable links, please alert the webmaster immediately.

Any external links submitted by students will be reviewed for inappropriate material, but the New Media Arts Council is not liable for any content posted outside the main site. If offending links exist, notification of the webmaster will result in their removal as soon as possible. The New Media Arts Council only considers submissions from people whose identities can be verified as registered students or former alumni.

Any spam that comes to our attention will be removed by the website administrator. Malicious hacking or attempts to install malware, spyware, or viruses are not tolerated.

Subscribed Members

Anyone who wishes to receive newsletters or email updates will not have their information shared with outside parties. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

Contact and Personal Privacy

We ask that visitors to this site please respect our members privacy. NMAC officers do not give out personal phone numbers, credit card information, or other sensitive information online. Any attempt to gather this information in a suspicious manner will result in notification of university administration.

It is preferred that introductory emails be first directed to the group email rather than UNCA student emails. Please provide some context so officers can tell if you are a contact reference of one of the faculty or students and not just a random stranger.
