This site is maintained by the New Media Arts Council, a student-run organization, as an educational resource for career-seeking students. UNCA and the UNCA Faculty are not responsible for the content or opinions displayed on this site.

All work displayed on this site belongs to the respective artists and authors. If any images, videos, music, or other content is displayed without proper credit or permission, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to attribute or remove work.

NMAC retains rights to certain logos, designs, and materials specifically commissioned for the student organization, and our officers have obtained the consent to use these by permission of the authors. These rights extend to any external sites maintained by New Media students.

Any original materials relating to The Virtual Lincoln Project are copyright of Christopher Oakley.

The UNCA logo is a registered trademark of the University of North Carolina, Asheville.

Any student and alumni work created while enrolled at UNCA is subject to state educational provisions allowing the university to feature select work publicly, namely on online websites. These same provisions do not extend to an unofficial student organization. Although we do take careful measures to ensure we don’t display work that the creators would not want displayed, mistakes can happen and it is not always possible to send emails to alumni to obtain consent. We apologize in advance if work is accidentally displayed without the owner’s knowledge and respect any requests to remove work or portfolio links from the site.

Certain rights to work and reference materials on this site may be licensed under creative commons. In these instances, the author’s terms of accreditation will be clearly labelled with the shared downloadable materials.

Advertisements Policy

NMAC does not seek to include paid sponsors or advertisements on this website at this time. This could potentially lead to undesirable conflicts of interest with the organization’s non-profit status.

Any resources and links displayed on the site are intended to help career-seeking students explore different options in a multi-disciplined field. The New Media Arts Council is not affiliated with any of these sites outside of our academic partners, nor do our members necessarily endorse all the individuals or companies listed. Payment for certain programs and subscription-based sites are up to the discretion of the viewer.

Terms of Use

By using this site you agree to not intentionally abuse this site to seek revenge against UNCA or the New Media Department. Any form of cyberbullying, inflammatory trolling, or discrimination on this site or any related social media outlets maintained by the New Media Arts Council will not be tolerated. Any spam that comes to our attention will be removed by the website administrator. Malicious hacking or attempts to install malware, spyware, or viruses will be dealt with appropriately.

Any external links submitted by students will be reviewed for inappropriate material, but the New Media Arts Council is not liable for any content posted outside the main site. If offending links exist, notification of the webmaster will result in their removal as soon as possible.

Student Use

This website is intended to be open to a creative community where anyone can contribute. However, it is a public website associated with UNCA's New Media Department, so please be responsible and try to keep materials semi-professional.

It is recommended to research general copyright laws and attempt to obtain consent before posting any form of artwork or original media. Always attempt to credit sources, artists, and contributors. Don’t plagiarize. Creating original content is always preferred over using stock photos or materials found online.

Code on this site is open for UNCA students to modify for non-profit educational purposes. In terms of modifying the site design, please respect the work that went into previous iterations of the site by capturing screenshots to serve as an archive record. Otherwise, any changes are allowed.
